Poverty Pets Veterinary Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 83-1737444) founded to close the gap between the cost of veterinary care and the families who can't afford it. We partner directly with clinics across the country to pay for the treatment that keeps pets alive — and at home.

We launched in 2018 after watching too many families say goodbye to treatable pets simply because they didn't have $500 in their account. What started as a small mutual-aid jar at one clinic has grown into a nationwide fund.
Grants are paid by ACH directly to vetted veterinary clinics — never cash to applicants. Each partner clinic has a W-9 and a memorandum of understanding on file with us, and every disbursement is tied to an itemized clinic invoice. That keeps the program honest, the care high-quality, and every donor dollar accountable on our annual IRS Form 990.
Poverty Pets Veterinary Fund is governed by a volunteer board of directors and registered as a nonprofit corporation in the District of Columbia. We file IRS Form 990 annually and maintain our 501(c)(3) status with the Internal Revenue Service under EIN 83-1737444.
